New Year’s Resolutions for Cats

Happy New Year! As we leave 2017 in the rear-view mirror, and move on to 2018, many people are reflecting on their personal goals, and perhaps making some resolutions for the new year. If your feline pal could set resolutions, what do you think would make her list? As your local Marion, IA vet, I’ve got a pretty good idea of what Fluffy will be doing this year. Read on to find out!

Sleep More

Kitties certainly are tired! In fact, Fluffy can sleep up to 14 hours a day! Your drowsy pet may try to beat her previous napping records in 2018.

Finish Training The Humans

Does your cat know that all she has to do is meow and you’ll fill her bowl? Does Fluffy wake you up when she wants breakfast, or rub against your legs when she wants to be picked up? Your feline pal may very well want to finish training her human servants in the next 12 months!

Get More Sun

Although technically cats are not classed as cold-blooded, Fluffy does make us wonder from time to time. After all, kitties really love to sleep in warm places, like that patch of morning sun!

Explore

We recommend that cats live indoors, where they aren’t exposed to the dangers posed by cars, wild animals, weather, or other hazards. However, your kitty will still explore her domain as much as she can, even if that only means hopping into a closet or cabinet that’s usually closed.

Catch That Red Dot

No matter how pampered your feline buddy is, Fluffy is a fierce predator at heart, and will be instinctively driven to jump and pounce on small objects. However, cats just can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to capturing that mysterious red spot from a laser pointer. Maybe this will be the year!

Leave No Box Unexplored

Fluffy’s box obsession is undoubtedly one of her cutest quirks. If you put an empty box down near your pet, there’s a pretty good chance that she’ll immediately hop into it.

Take Over The Internet

Although kitties can’t type, and they probably don’t know much about how Wi-Fi connections work, they’ve managed to fill about 80% of the web with cat videos!
