$1 Second Opinions and Surgical Consults
Surgery doesn’t have to be a source of anxiety, especially if you’ve got the experienced, compassionate team at Animal Care Hospital on your side. Our staff is skilled in many types of routine and complex surgeries, and are capable of performing many procedures other veterinarians send out to specialists – often at a lower cost.
In particular, Dr. Hickey brings to the table a specialty in orthopedic and advanced soft-tissue surgery. Procedures she routinely performs include, but are not limited to:
- Luxating patella repair (trochlear wedge resection, tibial plateau transposition)
- Dislocation repair
- Cruciate repair (ACL) Offering TTA or extracapsular repair
- Hip dysplasia correction (FHO and JPS)
At Animal Care Hospital, we understand that bringing a family member in for surgery is never easy. We know exactly what you’re going through because we’re pet parents too. We will do everything in our power to ensure that your loved one’s procedure is as stress-free as possible.
Our surgical care starts with thorough preoperative screening, which helps us to reduce the risk of complications for your pet. We’ll also customize a safe, effective plan to keep your best friend comfortable and pain-free – before, during and following surgery.
Whether routine or advanced, your pet’s procedure will be our highest priority. From the moment you arrive, we’ll be there to ease your mind and help keep your loved one calm and relaxed. Once safely sedated, our team will complete the procedure as efficiently as possible. As the doctor works, our dedicated support staff will be available at all times to assist with surgery and carefully monitor your pet’s wellbeing.
Following surgery, we’ll gently relocate your pet to our recovery area, where our staff will offer comfort and reassurance. When you arrive to retrieve your pet, we’ll go over our aftercare instructions, including a plan for pain management.
